In 1987 STONEY-MILLER CONSULTANTS, INC. was formed in Irvine, California to service the Orange County commercial and residential building industry with comprehensive studies in geotechnical engineering and engineering geology focused on earth materials and their relationship with engineered structures.  In 1992 SMC expanded into custom home and coastal bluff studies with the purchase of GEOFIRM in Laguna Beach.  Through hard work and attention to detail over three decades, we continued to grow and develop our reputation for technical accomplishment and problem solving.  SMC now provides additional services in Environmental Geology and Hydrogeology, Geotechnical Instrumentation and Construction Monitoring, Forensic Studies, and Temporary Shoring Design.  With offices throughout southern California and the Bay area, SMC has serviced projects and clients around the western United States.
